Taupo Trail Festival Returns!
One epic day, 2 epic events in the heart of Craters Forest!
It’s all go with the Craters Trail Run (21km, 12km, 6km + Kids’ Dash) and the Team Night Run under the stars.
In between the action, soak up the festival atmosphere with live music, food trucks.
It’s trail running, nature, and festival magic all in one unforgettable weekend!

All ages and abilities are welcome! With a variety of distance options and beautifully maintained trails (thanks to our friends at Bike Taupo), there’s a course for everyone to enjoy. Whether you’re new to the trails or a seasoned adventurer, the Taupo Trail Festival offers something for all levels. Come join us and experience the adventure
No more plastic cups!
As trail runners and Taupo lovers we’re keen to do our part to protect our beautiful region and reduce the environmental impact of our events. As such we’re removed disposable cups from all aid stations. Please remember your reusable cup, hydration pack or water bottle to fill up! We’ll have collapsible silicone cups available at event base for $5.
Medals & trees for all finishers!
All finishers at the Taupo Trail Festival will be rewarded with a medal at the finish line, celebrating your achievement. Whether you're tackling your first trail or pushing your limits, we honor every participant’s effort with this special keepsake! We will also plant 1 native tree for every pair of shoes that hits the trails over the weekend!
